Our story begins with Sidney Bacon, our family patriarch, who qualified as a hearing care specialist in the UK in the early 1970s. In 1981, he brought his expertise and vision to Australia, where he, along with his family, built the largest privately-owned hearing practice in New South Wales. Over the decades, Sid’s innovative approach transformed hearing care in Australia.
Sid was a founding member of the Australian College of Audiology and a pioneer in introducing concealed in-the-ear hearing devices to the country. This innovation, famously promoted by national newsreader Ross Symonds, revolutionized the industry and was embraced by countless Australians.
Today, Sid’s legacy continues through his children—Alastair Bacon, Dianne McMahon, and Caroline Filo—who have followed in his footsteps, contributing their expertise to the family business. Joining them is Alexandra, Sid’s granddaughter, representing the third generation of our commitment to exceptional hearing care. Together, we bring decades of experience—literally “thousands of ears” of expertise—to every client we serve.
