Alastair
Director & Principal Clinician – Queensland & Victoria
Alastair is the Director and founder of Hidden Hearing and one of the most experienced clinicians in the industry. With over 35 years of experience in business ownership and hearing healthcare, he brings a depth of knowledge and expertise to the team that’s truly unmatched.
Alastair’s career began working alongside his father at National Hearing Aids for over a decade before establishing and directing Audioactive Hearing Aids for 15 years. He also spent time in network marketing and, in his earlier years, worked as a computer programmer — a skill set that has served him well in the ever-evolving world of hearing technology.
As our most senior clinician, Alastair is highly regarded for his expertise in complex hearing loss, business development, audiology, marketing, and networking. He thrives on the challenge of difficult hearing cases and takes immense satisfaction in knowing he’s making a real difference in people’s lives by helping them reconnect with family, friends, and the world around them.
Fast, efficient, and a natural problem solver, Alastair brings invaluable experience, critical thinking, and mentorship to the Hidden Hearing team.
Outside of work, Alastair enjoys cycling, chess, tending to his gardens, and spending time at his home in Ireland. A keen traveller and adventurer, he values new experiences and creating memories with family.
Alastair is a proud father to two daughters and grandfather to three beautiful grandchildren. Known for his creativity, quick wit, easygoing nature, and deep understanding of people, he remains a driving force behind Hidden Hearing’s reputation for personal, professional, and compassionate care.

Dianne
Clinician – Gordon
Dianne is a dedicated clinician at Hidden Hearing and brings with her over 25 years of experience in the hearing healthcare industry. Having worked for several of the larger chain companies throughout her career, Dianne eventually made the decision to join her brother Alastair’s team at Hidden Hearing — a move that brought her back to her family’s roots and values.
Growing up in a family deeply embedded in the hearing industry, Dianne spent her early years working alongside her father and sister. With all four of her siblings also working as clinicians, she developed a natural affinity and deep understanding for hearing care from a young age. This lifelong exposure has given Dianne a unique advantage and perspective that she carries into every consultation.
Highly regarded for her warm, kind, and empathetic nature, Dianne possesses a remarkable level of patience and genuine understanding. She takes pride in offering personalised, compassionate care and thrives on making meaningful connections with her clients, ensuring they receive the very best service and solutions tailored to their needs.
Dianne has a passion for staying up to date with the latest hearing technologies and thoroughly enjoys exploring new products and advancements in the industry. Alexandra
Clinician – Southport
Alexandra has been a valued part of the hearing care industry for over 16 years, with experience across Audiohealth, Audioactive Hearing Aids, and Hidden Hearing, where she has worked for the past 8 years. Before entering the world of audiology, Alexandra spent over a decade as a professional chef.
With a background in hospitality and administration, Alexandra first joined the industry as a receptionist for Alastair when she was a teenager — working alongside Melissa. Over time, she discovered her passion for audiometry, inspired by her father and grandfather’s careers in the field. Today, she thrives on the challenge of meeting clients’ diverse needs and finds particular satisfaction in the counselling side of hearing care. She is also qualified in micro-suction.
Alexandra prides herself on truly listening to her clients and delivering personalised, realistic solutions to support their hearing and communication. She believes no one hearing aid fits all and loves finding tailored options that make a real difference.
Highly efficient, caring, and versatile, Alexandra brings warmth, empathy, and a wealth of practical skills to the team — from patient care to marketing and IT support.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, fishing, going to the gym, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. Alexandra is a proud mum to a 5 year old and a step mum to 2 beautiful teenagers with a beloved Labrador x Kelpie named Lola.

Peter
Clinician – Gordon
With over 40 years of experience in the hearing industry, Peter has built a distinguished career across both public and private sectors. The Russell name has been trusted in audiology for over 70 years, with Peter proudly following in the footsteps of his father, Richard Russell — a respected director of OPSM Hearing Aids. A brilliant clinician and lover of opera, Richard believed one of life’s greatest losses was the inability to hear music.
Peter’s career has seen him work in managerial, clinical, technical, and administrative roles, offering a wealth of experience to clients across both urban and regional Australia, attending permanent and visiting clinics around the country. With a professional background in electrical engineering, Peter has a keen interest in the electro-acoustic side of audiology and is passionate about the science behind modern hearing technology.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Peter’s work is helping people achieve successful outcomes tailored to their individual hearing needs. Witnessing the moment a client reconnects with the world of sound — whether it’s a conversation with family or hearing a favourite piece of music again — is something Peter considers a privilege of the profession.

Caroline
Clinician – Erina
Caroline is a highly experienced hearing rehabilitation specialist with over 20 years in the industry. Throughout her career, she has worked with several of the country’s leading providers, including National Hearing Aids, Better Hearing Specialists, Bloom Hearing, and Audioclinic. She also happens to be Alastair’s youngest sister, adding a wonderful family connection and warmth to the Hidden Hearing team.
Caroline has a particular interest in paediatric hearing assessments and has spent much of her career helping children and families navigate the challenges of hearing loss. She is passionate about improving people’s lives through advanced hearing technology and finds it deeply rewarding to witness how better hearing can transform relationships, build confidence, and enhance overall quality of life.
Known for her empathy, kindness, and strong attention to detail, Caroline ensures every client’s individual needs are carefully listened to and supported. Her calm, patient nature makes her especially popular with both children and older clients alike, and she takes pride in creating a comfortable, reassuring experience for everyone she meets.
Caroline is also passionate about continuing professional development and regularly engages in training and product updates to stay current with the latest advancements in hearing care.
Outside of work, Caroline loves spending time in nature — enjoying yoga, hiking, and camping adventures with family and friends. She is a proud mother to three beautiful daughters and shares her home with a much-loved French bulldog named Wesley.

Scott
General Manager
Scott is the General Manager at Hidden Hearing, bringing with him a diverse and multifaceted background that makes him an invaluable part of the leadership team. Over the years, Scott has worked across a variety of industries including hospitality, fitness, construction, and security — giving him a wealth of practical skills and life experience that translates seamlessly into his management role.
Before joining Hidden Hearing, Scott worked for Essential Energy NSW, spent several years as a baker and pastry chef, was a personal trainer, a laboratory technician with Boral, and worked in security. His broad career path has shaped him into a dynamic and resourceful leader.
Scott holds qualifications in hospitality, management, personal training, micro-suction, leadership, and administration. He thrives on problem-solving, mentoring staff, and continuously finding ways to improve processes and systems.
Passionate about helping others, Scott has a real soft spot for the elderly and those in need. His kind and approachable nature ensures both staff and clients feel supported and valued.
As General Manager, Scott brings strong leadership, fresh ideas, empathy, and a sense of humour to the team. He’s hardworking, solutions-focused, a great listener, and always ready to lend a hand or find a better way to do things.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys playing golf, following the footy, exploring the world of crypto, hitting the gym, and tackling home improvement projects. He treasures family time with his wife Alexandra (one of our clinicians and daughter of Director Alastair), their three children, and their much-loved dog, Lola.

Melissa
Client Care Specialist – Southport
Melissa brings nearly 20 years of experience in the hearing care industry and is proud to be back at Hidden Hearing Southport — the very place where her journey in hearing healthcare first began. Having previously worked alongside Alastair and Alexandra 18 years ago, Melissa’s return to the team feels like coming home.
With her friendly smile and calming presence, Melissa is often the first person clients meet when they arrive at the clinic. She is passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and welcoming environment where every visitor feels valued and cared for. Her natural ability to connect with people, paired with her genuine compassion, allows her to build lasting relationships and treat clients with the same kindness and respect she would offer her own family.
Melissa holds a certificate in micro suction wax removal and frequently assists with in-house hearing aid repairs, playing an important hands-on role in supporting the clinical team. Her attention to detail, reliability, and deep understanding of client needs make her an integral part of the Hidden Hearing experience.
Outside of work, Melissa is a proud and devoted grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren. Her weekends are filled with family time, craft projects, handball matches, and creature-catching adventures that keep her on her toes. She cherishes these special moments and brings the same joy and enthusiasm into her role at the clinic each day.

Berenice
Client Care Specialist – Gordon
Originally from South Africa, Berenice has called Australia home since 1996. With over 13 years of experience working with Connect Hearing, and a strong background in client care and practice management from her years helping run her husband’s optometry business in Sydney’s CBD, Berenice brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and warmth to the Hidden Hearing Gordon team.
Berenice has a natural ability to connect with people and is passionate about providing a welcoming, friendly, and supportive environment for every client who walks through the door. She takes pride in delivering outstanding service and ensuring every visitor feels genuinely valued and cared for. Known for her attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and kind, approachable manner, Berenice is a trusted and reliable presence within the clinic.

Colin
Client Care Specialist— Gordon
With over 16 years of experience in the hearing industry, Colin has spent much of his career with Connect Hearing, where he first worked alongside Berenice. The opportunity to reunite with her at Hidden Hearing has been a welcome one, bringing together years of shared knowledge and experience.
Colin’s role is often the first point of contact for clients walking through the door. He brings a wealth of expertise in minor hearing aid repairs, troubleshooting, client support, and general assistance. Whether it’s sorting out itchy ears, wrangling hearing aid domes, or providing a clear explanation of how today’s advanced hearing technology works, Colin’s approachable manner and technical know-how help clients and their families feel supported and informed.
One of the most rewarding parts of Colin’s job is witnessing the transformation in clients after their appointments. Seeing the change in their expressions and body language as they reconnect with the world of sound is something he finds truly meaningful.
Outside of work, Colin has a wide range of hobbies and interests, including writing, photography, 3D printing, bushwalking, and caring for his native bees — a hobby even his cat enjoys, often choosing a sunny spot beside the hive.
Colin is known for his warm, easy-going nature, his sense of humour, and his tendency to have a good chat with clients. He’s passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment and is committed to helping every client get the most out of their hearing aids, so they can enjoy life to the fullest.
