Family Legacy of Hearing Care
The Hidden independent Hearing clinic journey is rooted in audiology and a passion for helping others rediscover the joy of sound. It all began with Sidney Bacon, who qualified as a hearing care specialist in the UK in the early 1970s. In 1981, he brought his expertise to Australia and, with his family, established the largest privately-owned hearing practice in New South Wales, transforming the industry with his innovative approach.
As a founding member of the Australian College of Audiology, Sid pioneered concealed in-the-ear hearing devices, famously promoted by national newsreader Ross Symonds, revolutionising the industry for countless Australians.
Today, Sid’s legacy continues through his children—Alastair Bacon, Dianne McMahon, and Caroline Filo—and his granddaughter Alexandra, representing the third generation of our commitment to exceptional hearing care. Together, we bring decades of experience—literally “thousands of ears”—to every client we serve.
